Regional Centre for Handicrafts holds "Azores Handicrafts" market in Sanjoaninas festivities
The Vice-Presidency of the Government, through the Regional Centre for Handicrafts (CRAA), promotes the "Azores Handicrafts" market during the Sanjoaninas festivities in Cerrado do Bailão, Angra do Heroísmo, between June 21 and 28.
The event is held under the Sanjoaninas 2019 festivities programme, which will be dedicated to the theme "Angra - Amusement of the King and the People." During a period of higher influx of tourists, the initiative aims to give visibility to the works of 28 handicraft companies that have applied for the Incentive System for the Development of Azores Handicrafts (SIDART).
This year, the market showcases handicraft products from Terceira and Pico in the most diverse techniques and materials, namely fish scales, embroidery, lace, tinworks, wool, ceramics, costume jewellery, leather, miniatures and home textiles, among others.
With the organisation of this event, CRAA aims to promote handicrafts and artisans as well as to support the marketing of Azorean handicraft products.
The "Azores Handicrafts Sanjoaninas" is open every day from 7 PM to 12 AM; admission is free.
