The ordinance approving the new forms for Zero Licensing programme in the Azores was published in the Official Journal today. In addition to simplifying forms and procedures, it also promotes an effective coordination between the regional administration and local authorities.
After complying with the licensing procedures required by municipalities, the scheme allows the immediate opening of restaurants and commercial establishments operating in the trade, beverage, service and storage sectors, without the need for other licenses.
Administrative licenses and authorisations will no longer be required; they will be replaced by previous notification. Companies must provide the necessary information for the verification of compliance with legal requirements, which will be subject to verification by the competent authorities.
The ordinance also provides for the creation of a new form on the occupation of public spaces, allowing companies to take care of this requirement directly with municipalities, through previous notification.
With the new forms, commercial establishments will be also required to inform about their operating hours, thus complying with several legal requirements in a single procedure.
