The Official Gazette published today the Regional Implementing Decree regulating the Incentive Scheme for the Development of Azores Handicrafts (SIDART).
With this legislation, the Regional Government of the Azores implements one of the measures provided in the Agenda for Employment Creation and Business Competitiveness, thus concluding the revision of SIDART.
The decree establishes the criteria for assessing applications for government support of projects in the area of handicrafts, either in training activities, promotional projects, such as the participation in fairs and exhibitions, investment in craft production units or in the qualification and innovation of craft products.
The Incentive Scheme for the Development of the Azores Handicraft was created with the aim of promoting the sustainable development of craft activities in the regional economy, through a series of measures that assure the coherence of the incentive system.
Reinforcing the quality of production and competitiveness of craft businesses in the Azores and simultaneously addressing the structural changes resulting from the creation of the Craftspeople Statute and the Craft Production Unit are other goals set by the Vice-presidency, Employment and Business Competitiveness.
