The Regional Government has created the Human Resources Exchange in the Area of Agriculture by an order issued by the Vice-President that was recently published. This measure aims to redirect human resources from other activity sectors to the primary sector.
With this measure provided in the Azorean Agenda for Employment Creation and Business Competitiveness, the Regional Government aims to streamline the reintegration of human resources in the labour market.
This initiative will cover long-term unemployed who are not receiving employment benefits and who are currently enrolled at the Agencies for Qualification and Employment of the Autonomous Region of the Azores. In addition, eligible beneficiaries must be aged 50 years or under and should hold a basic education diploma (9th form) or under.
Taking into consideration that the labour market of the primary sector has specific seasonal characteristics and being one of the sectors with the highest growth in terms of employment, the Government of the Azores expects to contribute to the reintegration of labour force with low employability in order to promote their gradual professional reconversion as well as to provide the unemployed with a source of income.
The Regional Directorate for Employment and Vocational Training, which is responsible for the management and operation of the Human Resources Exchange, provides the telephone number 296 308 111 and the email address [email protected] to primary sector companies in order to render them all the necessary information on this initiative and the referral of the unemployed.
