The Regional Government of the Azores promotes the 4th edition of the "AçorExpo" fair at Portas do Mar (Sea Gateways) in Ponta Delgada, from tomorrow until Sunday, September 10, with the aim of enhancing the visibility of regional products and services as well as its consumption and acquisition in domestic and foreign markets.
This event is part of the "Azores Export 2017" plan. The initiative is developed in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azores under the Regional Government's strategy to increase the export of regional products and services. It includes multiples initiatives and support to companies, namely participation in fairs, promotional activities and organisation of business missions to the Region and abroad with the aim of fostering new business opportunities.
With an area of approximately 2200 square metres, the fair is a showcase of several economic activity sectors. It has 60 stands featuring regional products, services and handicrafts.
The event also includes moments of entertainment; admission is free. It may be visited from tomorrow between 6 PM and 12 AM, Saturday between 2 PM and 12 AM, and Sunday between 4 PM and 10 PM.
The Annual Plan of Business Fairs and Missions is implemented by the Society for Business Development of the Azores - SDEA in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azores. It includes several actions of proximity on several islands with the aim of promoting more business opportunities in the domestic market.
At international level, the "AçorExpo" fair promotes exports from the main economic sector of the Region, with special emphasis on the agri-food sector, and fosters cooperation between companies, thus reducing imports and promoting regional products.
