The Vice-Presidency of the Government, through the Nonagon Association, will hold the first Innovation Forum on February 22 at the São Miguel Science and Technology Park at 2:30 PM. This initiative is expected to cover the nine islands of the archipelago.
The Innovation Forum is intended to promote the importance of investment in this area for business competitiveness, provide information to economic agents and hear the various partners involved in the innovation ecosystem.
This initiative also aims to disseminate success stories and examples of good practices that allow us to assess the impact of innovation and capacity building on corporate performance and economic development.
The panel of speakers includes Jorge Portugal, General Manager of Cotec - Portuguese Business Association for Innovation, who will address the theme "Innovation and Growth: the Cotec Portugal experience" and Sandra Faria, Vice-Dean for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Azores, who will deliver a paper on the theme "From knowledge to Innovation."
In turn, Francisco Pinto, Head of the Services of the Regional Directorate for Science and Technology, will address the theme "Science as a driving force for innovation" and Paula Rego, from Queijaria Furnense, will give her testimony on the advantages of good innovation practices.
