The Regional Health Authority informs that one positive case of COVID-19 was diagnosed on the island of São Miguel, according to testing conducted by the two laboratories of reference in the Azores. 

The new case concerns a 35-year-old female who had contact with a positive case. 

Currently, the patient is clinically stable and in home confinement.
 
The situation is being followed up by the Municipal Health Authority. The procedures defined for confirmed case are in progress as well as the surveillance of close contacts. 

With the recovery of one case, the Region now registers 66 positive cases for infection with the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the COVID-19 disease, 32 on São Miguel Island, 10 on Terceira Island, 3 on Graciosa Island, 7 on São Jorge Island, 9 on Pico Island and 5 on Faial Island. 

The information on the COVID-19 pandemic will be updated this afternoon at 4 pm, through a press conference to be held at the headquarters of the Regional Health Secretariat at Solar dos Remédios in Angra do Heroísmo. 

The Regional Health Authority reiterates the need to comply with all recommendations already made public in this regard, especially that, in case of symptoms, patients should not seek a Hospital or Health Unit, but rather call the Azores Health Line - 808 24 60 24.
