The President of the Government granted today an audience for the presentation of farewell to the Operational Commander of the Azores, Lieutenant General Amândio Miranda, who has completed his two-year term in the Region.
At the meeting held at Santana Palace in Ponta Delgada, Vasco Cordeiro conveyed the Government's appraisal the work carried out by Lieutenant General Amândio Miranda while performing his duties in the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
Additionally, the President of the Government extolled the collaboration developed with the three Branches of the Armed Forces in the Region - Army, Navy and Air Force - not only in joint Civil Protection drills but also in the deployment of military resources in emergency situations and assistance to the population.
