The Regional Health Authority reports that the data concerning the Azores that were released today by the Directorate-General for Health in its Situation Report no.026 are not correct.
As of now, 27 positive cases for infection with the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the COVID-19 disease, have been identified in the Region, seven on Terceira Island, three on Faial Island, seven on São Jorge Island, seven on São Miguel Island and three on Pico Island.
It is further informed that the Regional Health Authority is the reliable source for information on the epidemiological situation in the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
Joint efforts with the Directorate-General for Health will be intensified to correct reported data.
