Number of registered unemployed in the Azores is the lowest of the last seven years
The Vice-President of the Government pointed out that the number of unemployed registered in the Azores is "the lowest of the last seven years," representing the lowest figure since September 2011.
According to data released today by the Employment and Vocational Training Institute (IEFP), there was a decrease of 10.7 percent in registered unemployment compared to the same month of 2017.
"According to IEPF data, the Azores registered 8,010 unemployed last month, which corresponds to 957 fewer unemployed Azoreans, compared to the same month of the previous year," said Sérgio Ávila.
For the Vice-President of the Government, these data validate the "unemployment reduction trend occurring in the Azores," as evidenced by the lowest number of registered unemployed of the last seven years.
The government official also stressed that the IEFP data confirm "the strategy implemented by the Government of the Azores to achieve the goal towards the reduction of unemployment and the increase of job creation."
