Main public buildings open for visits on Region's Day

The Legislative Assembly and the Regional Government have decided to open the main public regional buildings next Monday, May 21, to mark the Day of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.

As in the previous years, the buildings may be visited from 3 to 6 PM. This initiative aims to strengthen the attachment of the Azorean population to autonomic institutions and, simultaneously, promote the preservation of regional heritage.

The buildings that will be open to the public are as follows: the Regional Parliament and gardens of the official residence of the President of the Legislative Assembly in Horta, the headquarters of the Presidency of the Regional Government and several Regional Secretariats on the islands of S. Miguel, Terceira and Faial.

On the Region's Day, those who wish may also visit Santana Palace in Ponta Delgada; Capitães-Generais Palace, Solar dos Remédios and Paço da Carreira dos Cavalos in Angra do Heroísmo, and the German Colony in Horta.
