The Regional Health Authority reports that the 639 tests conducted by the two laboratories of reference in the Azores did not detect any positive case of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

Regarding active positive cases, there are four new cases of recovery from infection with SARS-CoV-2, corresponding to two females aged 3 and 88 from the islands of Pico and São Miguel, respectively, and two males aged 27 and 35 from the island of São Miguel.

With these recovered cases, Pico becomes the eighth island of the archipelago without any active positive case of infection with SARS-CoV-2 and, in the case of São Miguel, the municipalities of Povoação and Ribeira Grande are also free of positive cases, joining the municipalities of Lagoa and Vila Franca do Campo.

As of now, 146 positive cases for infection with the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the COVID-19 disease, have been identified in the Region, with 128 recovered cases, 16 deaths and two active cases on the island of São Miguel.

Pandemic prevention and containment measures should be maintained and reinforced, whenever possible, by citizens, private and social organisations, and by the social sector.

In addition to the daily briefings of the Regional Health Authority, the  information on the COVID-19 pandemic will be updated Friday, May 29, through a press conference at the headquarters of the Regional Health Secretariat at Solar dos Remédios in Angra do Heroísmo.

The Regional Health Authority reiterates the need to comply with all recommendations already made public in this regard, especially that, in case of symptoms, patients should not seek a Hospital or Health Unit, but rather call the Azores Health Line - 808 24 60 24.
