The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Pico Museum, will open the photography exhibition entitled "The Navy in the Azores - 2017" by Paulo Rafael and Isidro Vieira at the Temporary Exhibition Gallery of the Whaling Industry Museum in São Roque do Pico next Saturday, November 18, at 10:30 PM.
This exhibition presents the different but complementary visions of two photographers who are closely linked to the Sea and the Navy.
Isidro Vieira portrays the means and structures to support the activities developed by the Navy, while Paulo Rafael addresses the men and women who, serving in the Navy, serve the Azores and Portugal.
The itinerant exhibition entitled "The Navy in the Azores - 2017" was initially presented in Ponta Delgada in May in the celebrations of the Navy Day and, then, in Horta during the Sea Week in August.
The Pico Museum, joining the celebrations of the National Day of the Sea, held on November 16, will now host this exhibition. It will be open to the public until the end of December. It may be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 AM to 5 PM.
The Regional Directorate for Culture informs that this and other events may be consulted in the Cultural Agenda of CulturAçores Portal at the following address: www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt.
