The Coordinating Commission for the Archives of the Autonomous Region of the Azores (CCARAA) is the managing entity of regional archives. This entity is responsible for defining regional archive policies as well as for monitoring and supervising their implementation. It comprises the regional archive system, which includes the archives of regional and local administrations, and the regional archives of Ponta Delgada, Angra do Heroísmo and Horta.

This entity is also a partner in the modernisation of the regional public administration.

The Commission is composed of eleven archive technicians, a legal expert and a computer technician. The regional and local administrations are represented in this entity.
