Madalena Moniz Faria Lobo San-Bento graduated in History at the University of the Azores in 1989 and completed her in-service professionalisation in 1995. She taught the subjects of History, Portuguese, Citizenship, Project Development Area, Civic Education, Assisted Study and Language and Communication at Middle School level. Throughout her teaching career, she has held several positions and coordinating functions.
She taught the subject of Lecture in Vocational Training Courses as guest trainer and is a trainer accredited by the Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture, having conducted training courses for this entity.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Ponta Delgada Cultural Institute. She has delivered lectures on a variety of topics in the field of History, Culture and Literature at the invitation of public and private entities. She is also a member of the jury of Literary Competitions.
She was a member of the Drafting Committee of the Essential Skills Document for the Regional Basic Education Curriculum and was among those responsible for the radio programme "Cultura no Feminino" (Culture in the Feminine). She also coordinates the School Libraries Network and is a member of the Operational Committee of the Regional Reading Plan.
Her literary curriculum already includes a dozen works and some literary prizes. She collaborates with the regional press and other periodicals.
