The new building of the Graciosa Museum and the opening of the respective permanent exhibition will be opened on December 11 at 4:30 PM. During this event, a painting exhibition by Vera Bettencourt will also be opened.
Integrated in this event, the Cultural Agenda of the Graciosa Museum for the month of December presents a cycle of events taking place from December 11 to 19: guided tours to the permanent exhibition at the main Centre of Museum, from 2:30 PM to 5 PM, and the reopening of Whaling Boat Shed in Santa Cruz on December 12, 14, 16 and 17; Educational Service, under the title “Water, a precious good,” directed by Lurdes Cunha and Jorge Cunha, Directors of the Museum and the “Ecoteca” (Environmental Awareness Raising Centre) from 9:30 AM to 12 PM on December 13 and 15; the lecture “The importance of Museums in the Communities” will be delivered by Jorge Cunha at the Museum at 5 PM on December 18; and the Christmas Concert featuring three choirs and the “Rancho de Natal” (traditional music group) of the “white” island takes place at the Graciosa Cultural Centre on December 19 at 5 PM.
