Pico Regional Museum takes on the role of an instrument capable of fostering the valorisation of the cultural heritage of the island of Pico and collaborating in the construction of its identity, carrying out the inventory, preservation, study and dissemination of its collective memories, associated to the regional historical cycles of whaling and viticulture.
Pico Regional Museum, in its capacity as the home of regional whaling heritage, is also responsible for managing this heritage and taking part in the planning and performance of regattas of Azorean whaling boats.
Pico Regional Museum is also a partner in the management and dissemination of the Pico Island Vineyard Landscape - which is a World Heritage Site.
