She was born in Algueirão Mem - Martins on November 15, 1966. She graduated from the Autonomous University of Lisbon- U.A.L in 1994 with a postgraduate degree in Museology and Education from Lusófona University in 1996.
Since 1994, she has resided on the island of São Jorge, where she worked as teacher at basic education (middle and junior high school) and secondary school levels from 1994 to 2001 at the schools: Padre Manuel Azevedo da Cunha Basic Education and Secondary School, Calheta; Velas Basic Education and Secondary School; Topo Basic Education School and São Jorge Vocational Training School.
She left teaching between 2002 and 2004 to work in a private company. She was a member of the board of Francisco de Lacerda Museum from 2004 until February 2012.
She was promoted to senior technician of the museum on March 1, 2012 and was appointed as its director on April 1, 2013.
