Premises:
The Santa Maria Museum is installed in a house located in the centre of the parish of Santo Espírito. It occupies a two-floor building with an annex used for storage. Built in the early 20th century, the building's architectural style evidences some of the changes it has undergone over time. It cannot be considered a typical rural construction. Among the most relevant architectural elements, two tube-shaped chimneys and the bulging shape of the oven stand out as characteristic elements of Santa Maria's rural architecture.
In the 1990s, this building underwent adaptation works to better fit its new function.
