Carlos César welcomed Carlos Monjardino, Chairman of the Banco Português de Gestão and the Orient Foundation
The President of the Government of the Azores stressed the importance of the meeting with the Chairman of the Banco Português de Gestão and the Orient Foundation, Carlos Monjardino, held on Monday morning with the purpose of monitoring the difficulties experienced by some regional companies.
Carlos César spoke at the end an audience that he granted to Monjardino and stated that the meeting aims to “achieve good solutions, preserve good companies as well as their respective economic activity.”
For the President of the Government, “it is our obligation to do so, but it is also necessary that the banks involved may continue to contribute to the viability of these business structures. It is in this spirit that we work with the Banco Português de Gestão and other financial institutions to achieve these goals.
Stressing the importance of knowing that the Government, when meeting with a financial institution of reference, is working to strengthen the business sector, Carlos César defended that “the business initiatives we consider relevant are being safeguarded as well as the important economic activities.”
The President of the Regional Government challenged Carlos Monjardino, as Chairman of the Orient Foundation, to promote a greater presence of that foundation in the Azores by reinforcing its links to public, cultural and private institutions, the University and even the Government, with protocols to develop joint initiatives.
