Paulo Simão Carvalho de Borba Menezes will be the new President of the Administration Board of SATA, replacing Luís Parreirão, who leaves office for professional reasons regarding his involvement in a private business project.

Paulo Menezes holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Higher Technical Institute. He is also the holder of the Advanced Management Programme for Executives by the Portuguese Catholic University.

Bearing in mind his professional path, Paulo Menezes is an experienced manager and an expert on  the air transport sector in general, especially with regard to SATA.
Since 2012, he has held the position of public manager as President of the Administration Board of GLOBALEDA, Telecomunicações e Sistemas de Informação, S.A and, since 2013, he has been the director of ONIAÇORES, Infocomunicações, S.A.. He has also held the same position at NOVABASE ATLÂNTICO, Sistemas de Informação, S.A.. Between 2001 and 2004, he was the President of the General Assembly of SATA Internacional, S.A.

Between 1997 and 2004, he served as Regional Director for Transport and Communications, being responsible for  air transport and the supervision of Grupo SATA.
In addition to these duties, he also served as President of the Regional Fund for Science and Technology (2008-2012), Regional Director for Science , Technology and Communications (2008-2012) and as President of the Installing Committee of the Azores Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (2009).

Under the legal terms, the President of the Government has already notified the President of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores about this appointment, taking into consideration the parliamentary hearing of engineer Paulo Menezes.
