The new Administration Board of Grupo SATA, chaired by Paulo Simão Carvalho de Borba Menezes, includes executive members Isabel Maria dos Santos Barata, João Manuel Trabuco Nunes and Maria Leonor Balacó Amaral Albergaria.
In March this year, the President of the Azorean Government, Vasco Cordeiro, informed the Legislative Assembly about the appointment of Paulo Menezes as Chairman of the Administration Board of SATA - Sociedade de Transportes Aéreos, SGPS, SA.
Paulo Menezes has held the position of Chairman and CEO of Grupo SATA since December 2015. He also served as Chairman of the Administration Board of GLOBALEDA as well as administrator of ONIAÇORES and Novabase Atlântico.
He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Higher Technical Institute, having attended the Advanced Management Programme for Executives at Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economic of the Portuguese Catholic University.
Paulo Menezes also served as Regional Director for Science, Technology and Communications, Regional Director for Public Works, Land Transport and Communications and Regional Director for Transport. He represented the Region at the Bilateral Committee for Port and Aviation Affairs of the Azores under the Agreement on Cooperation and Defence between Portugal and the USA.
The new Administration Board also includes members João Manuel Trabuco Nunes, a graduate in Economics from the Higher Institute of Economics and holder of a MBA in Human Resources Management from Business School - Middlesex University London.
He has worked as a consultant for companies in the area of Human Resources, having collaborated with several companies, in the area of training as well as in the provision of services and management of human resources.
He was also the Head of the Human Resources Department of Portugal Telecom of the Azores and of the Division of Human and Administrative Resources of the Post and Telecommunications Coordination Department of the Azores.
Economist Maria Leonor Balacó Amaral Albergaria, who was the regional head of the Azores department of Caixa Económica Montepio Geral, is also a member of the new Administration Board of SATA.
She holds a degree in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (New University of Lisbon) holds a postgraduate degree in Management. She has held the position of Director-General of APIA - Agency for the Promotion of Investment in the Azores.
From 2002 to 2006, she worked at SATA Internacional in the area of the Revenue Management Coordinator, being responsible for managing and coordinating the revenue from flights in regular domestic routes.
Isabel Barata remains as member of the Administration Board of SATA. She holds a degree in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra.
Isabel Barata attended the Advanced Management Programme for Executives of the School of Business Sciences of the Catholic University. She headed the Human Resources Development Service at Eletricidade dos Açores E.P. (electricity company) and was also responsible for Communication and Image, General Secretariat and Commercial Area at the same company.
She was a Member of the National Assembly in the VIIl Legislative Period and held the position of the Regional Director for Tourism of the Azores and President of the Administration Board of the Azores Tourism and Hotel Training Association.
