Institutional and personal respect are the foundation of the relation between the Regional Government and the Court of Auditors, says Vasco Cordeiro
The President of the Government highlighted in Ponta Delgada that the mutual institutional respect between the Regional Government and the Court of Auditors, which is the "foundation" of this relation within the powers assigned to each entity.
"Just as we have always respected the powers and positions of the Court of Auditors, we have also seen, on the part of this institution, the respect for different opinions and approaches, whether they were contrary opinions issued by auditors or appeals lodged against the Court's decisions," said Vasco Cordeiro.
The President of the Government spoke to journalists after receiving in audience Councillor Judge of the Regional Section of the Court of Auditors, Nuno Lobo Ferreira, for the exchange of farewell greetings.
The Government's action, stressed Vasco Cordeiro, has always sought to be worthy of the institutional and personal respect it deserves and continues to deserve, whether from the institution in itself or from the staff of the Court of Auditors. It should be noted that the duties assigned to both entities are primarily aimed at the defence and safeguarding of public interest.
"The Regional Government has always sought to exercise its powers and develop its relation with the Court of Auditors with the clear awareness that each entity carries out its duties and that any differences of opinion and perspective do not invalidate or affect this institutional and personal respect," said the President of the Government.
"I have to thank, as President of the Government, Councillor Judge Nuno Lobo Ferreira, who ceases his duties, for this attitude of openness and institutional loyalty that has always been demonstrated by the Court of Auditors," said Vasco Cordeiro.
