The Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores and the Regional Government have decided to open the main public regional buildings next Monday as part of the celebrations to mark the Day of the Azores.

As last year, buildings may be visited from 3 to 6 PM. This initiative aims to strengthen the attachment of the Azorean population to autonomic institutions and, simultaneously, promote the preservation of regional heritage.

The buildings that will be open to the public are the following: the Regional Parliament and the gardens of the official residence of the President of the Legislative Assembly in Horta, the headquarters of the Presidency of the Regional Government as well as of several Regional Secretariats on the islands of S. Miguel, Terceira and Faial.

On the Day of the Azores, those who are interested may also visit the Sant'Ana Palace, Conceição Palace and the Building at Largo do Colégio in Ponta Delgada; Capitães-Generais Palace, Solar dos Remédios and Paço da Carreira dos Cavalos in Angra do Heroísmo, and the German Colony in Horta.
