President of the Government values partnership with institutions working in the social area
The President of the Government opened today the Youth Development and Inclusion Centre of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Praia da Vitória, an opportunity to value the Regional Government's partnership with hundreds of institutions working in the social area throughout the Region.
"No matter how much public entities may create, make available and build solutions, they would never work as efficiently as they do if we did not have the availability of a vast group of entities, such as the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Praia da Vitória (SCMPV), to be our partners in this work," said Vasco Cordeiro.
On the second day of the Regional Government's visit to Terceira, the President of the Government also praised the work of “thousands of Azoreans who, on a daily basis, are essential parts of this great building of solidarity in action in the Region," through its multiple areas of support for children and young people, the elderly and people with special needs, among others.
"I take this moment to highlight this fact, because this moment is a good example of collaboration" Vasco Cordeiro highlighted, considering that the SCMVP centre opened today is directed to "an essential component" of the Government's social policy, namely youth support.
"This is one of the actions that has one of the most profound meanings, seeing that it is an investment that conveys hope and confidence in our collective future," said Vasco Cordeiro.
The Youth Development and Inclusion Centre of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Praia da Vitória, with capacity for 20 young people, is a community-based response intended to promote the healthy development of young people aged between 14 and 21. Exceptionally, it may reach young people up to 25 years old, when integrated in projects aimed at promoting employability.
Besides the acquisition of the building, the Regional Government granted support for the purchase of furniture and computer equipment and, more recently, for the purchase of additional equipment, energy certification purposes and the replacement of the fire detection station.
