Vasco Cordeiro delivers Valorizar Network certificates and challenges graduates to “be the best” in their activities
The President of the Government delivered today 70 diplomas to the graduates who completed their training in the Basic Skills Acquisition (ABC) and Digital Skills courses, challenging them to “be the best” in their profession.
“Once this course is completed, the real challenge begins from here. In the course of your professional activity, whatever it may be, you should have the pleasure of doing well what you do and be the best in your activity," urged Vasco Cordeiro.
“When we can do this by overcoming the challenges arising therefrom, it is at this point that the effort to overcome it is no longer concern each one, so as to have a positive impact on everyone's lives, as a People and as a Region,” said the President of the Government at Praia da Vitória Vocational Training School.
At the ceremony, held during the Government's visit to Terceira Island, the President of the Government delivered 55 Basic Skills Acquisition Course diplomas. This initiative was created by the Regional Government with the aim of providing adults with more qualifications and higher levels of education, thus increasing their employability and professional enhancement.
Moreover, the President delivered another 15 Digital Skills certificates, a training course that started in 2019.
With the awarding of more than 70 diplomas, and considering the last 10 years, there are already 12,400 Azorean adults qualified in academic and professional terms with basic and secondary level skills under the Valorizar Network.
On the occasion, Vasco Cordeiro also noted that, among the adults who benefited from the Valorizar Network training, about 70% are no longer enrolled in the regional Agencies for Qualification and Employment.
Given their innovative educational approach, the ABC Courses, one of the measures included in the Azorean Agenda for Job Creation and Business Competitiveness, received the "Learning Through Life" national award.
