The President of the Government of the Azores received today, at an audience for the exchange of greetings, the new President of the School Board of the Regional Conservatory of Ponta Delgada, Maria Isabel Albergaria Sousa.
At this meeting, held at Santana Palace in Ponta Delgada, Vasco Cordeiro stressed the relevance of this public artistic education school in the context of regional education system and offered the new team his "best wishes for success" in carrying out their duties during the three-year that has now begun.
Furthermore, the President of the Government also had the opportunity to learn about the new training and artistic projects that the Regional Conservatory of Ponta Delgada intends to develop in the future.
With the mission of teaching music at basic and secondary school level but also envisioning it as a future professional occupation, the Conservatory has a teaching staff close to half a hundred teachers and has registered an average of 500 students over the last school years. It also has as its mission the promotion of a wider set of goals, which focus on active participation in musical and cultural development.
