Vasco Cordeiro says the Azores have "a lot of determination to overcome challenges"
The President of the Government welcomed in Ponta Delgada the 75 participants of the "Challenge" 2015, an initiative promoted by the European Business School of Extremadura.
At the occasion, Vasco Cordeiro has the opportunity to highlight the importance of this type of initiatives for the knowledge of the reality of the Region, which has "a lot of determination to overcome the challenges it faces on a daily basis."
"Visits like this provide an in-depth knowledge of the various levels of professional experiences that are here in the reality of an Outermost Region, which is proud and eager to make its own path," stressed Vasco Cordeiro.
The President of the Government spoke at the Santana Palace, where he received participants, including businessmen and members of the regional administration. This year's edition of the "Challenge" has been held on the island of São Miguel in recent days.
This initiative counted on the participation of professionals from different professional areas, who came from Spain, Malta, Romania and Belgium.
At the hearing, Vasco Cordeiro also stressed that the Region is faced today with several challenges, ranging from its economy to its development. The Azores have "immense pride in the path that has been followed."
"What makes us very proud in the path we have been following is the fact that the Azores have asserted themselves, at various times in history, as a meeting pointing for people who come from various backgrounds," the President of the Government said, highlighting the geographical location of the archipelago as "meeting point between Europe and America."
