Working meeting between Governments of the Azores and Madeira reinforced partnership, says Vasco Cordeiro

The President of the Government stated that the working between the Government of the Azores and Madeira, held today in Funchal, allowed us to reinforce the partnership and cooperation that has been developed between both autonomous regions.
 
"Following President Miguel Albuquerque's visit to the Azores in 2016, it was possible to take assess the current situation of all cooperation protocols signed at that time. We were also able to analyse matters of interest to the Azores and Madeira, find new ways of keeping this partnership alive and, above all, to reinforce and take it further," stressed Vasco Cordeiro.
 
The President of the Government of the Azores spoke after the meeting between both governments that took place on the first day of Vasco Cordeiro's official visit to Madeira, at the invitation of Miguel Albuquerque. It also included the exchange of greetings with the President of the Legislative Assembly and visits to the University of Madeira and the M-ITI - Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute.
 
"It was a job that made me very satisfied," said the President of the Government to journalists.
 
The Azorean delegation includes, at the invitation of Vasco Cordeiro, social partners linked to business and production sectors, namely the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azores, the Azores Agricultural Federation and the Azores Fisheries Federation.
 
Vasco Cordeiro is also accompanied by the Vice-Presidency of the Government, Sérgio Ávila, the Regional Secretary for the Sea, Science and Technology, Gui Menezes, the Regional Secretary for Health, Rui Luís, and the Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for External Relations, Rui Bettencourt.
 
On Wednesday, Vasco Cordeiro and Miguel Albuquerque visit the Madeira Botanical Garden and the companies Madebiotech and Eutelsat Madeira. In turn, the morning of January 25 will be dedicated to visiting the companies Cervejas da Madeira and ACIN Icloud Solutions as well as Mudas - Contemporary Art Museum and Calheta Mariculture Centre.
 
The afternoon will be reserved for a meeting with business entities from the Autonomous Region of Madeira, followed by the ceremony that will formalise cooperation protocols between both Governments and the Joint Declaration to be signed by Vasco Cordeiro and Miguel Albuquerque.
