Anabela Isidoro highlights interest raised by Azorean Cryptomeria in Hannover, Germany
The Regional Secretary for Forest Resources highlighted today the interest raised by Azorean Cryptomeria and the regional stand at LIGNA 2015, held at the Hannover Exhibition Centre, Germany. This event is considered to be the world's leading fair in the timber industry.
"Cryptomeria wood is awakening the curiosity and interest for its aesthetic and physical characteristics. It is a light, little retractable and easily workable wood," Anabela Isidoro said, noting that this interest is not only shown by visitors but also by companies and professionals participating in the event.
The participation of Azorean companies in LIGNA 2015 aims to expand exports in the timber and logging. This event will provide regional entrepreneurs with the possibility to promote, value and trade final and intermediate goods produced from cryptomeria wood. In addition, they will have the opportunity to contact with other companies at an event that shows the best that is done in terms of efficiency and technology in this industry.
This is the first time that the Azores participate in this important event, an initiative promoted by the Regional Government through the Vice-Presidency, following the schedule of the Plan for Trade Fairs and Business Missions 2015, which has been implemented by the Society for the Business Development of the Azores (SDEA) in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azores.
With an average of 90,000 visits, LIGNA is a trade fair exclusively directed to professionals from all areas of the timber and logging industry. This event gathers professionals from over 40 countries.
