The Government of the Azores has determined the closure of all Recreational Forest Reserves in the Region until March 31.
This measure falls within the permanent monitoring of the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic under the state of alert already declared for the Autonomous Region of the Azores. It also takes into consideration the importance of preventive action to reduce collective risks.
This measure covers the 27 Recreational Forest Reserves on eight islands, namely Santa Maria (Fontinhas and Valverde), S. Miguel (Pinhal da Paz, Chã da Macela, Cerrado dos Bezerros, Viveiro das Furnas, Viveiro do Nordeste, Cancela do Cinzeiro, Água Retorta and Fajã do Rodrigo), Terceira (Monte Brasil, Viveiro da Falca, Mata da Serreta and Lagoa das Patas), São Jorge (Sete Fontes, Macelas and Silveira), Graciosa (Caldeira), Faial (Capelo, Cabouco Velho and Falca) , Pico (Mistério de São João, Quinta das Rosas, Prainha and Santa Luzia) and Flores (Luís Paulo Camacho and Boca da Baleia).
