Annual Forum on the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in the Lands of Priolo to take place in Furnas
The Government of the Azores promotes the organisation of the annual Forum on European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in the Lands of Priolo (ECST) at the Furnas Monitoring and Research Centre, São Miguel, on May 18. The event is organised through a partnership between the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and the Environment and the Office of ECST.
The forum, which starts at 7:30 PM, is open to all those who are interested in this subject. It involves the participation of entrepreneurs and institutions that accompany the development of the project, namely those that joined the Priolo Brand initiative.
During the meeting, participants will discuss the presentation the Report on the Progress of the Action Plan for the Sustainable Development of Tourism in the Lands of Priolo regarding to 2014. The presentation will focus on the results of the satisfaction surveys conducted on visitors in the municipalities of Nordeste and Povoação as well as on statistical information on Priolo Brand.
The European Charter for Sustainable Tourism is a tool designed, evaluated and certified by the EUROPARC Federation with the aim of promoting the development of sustainable tourism in protected areas.
The European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in the Lands of Priolo has established partnerships with the Regional Directorates for the Environment, Forest Resources and Tourism, the Portuguese Society for the Study of Birds (SPEA) and the Association for Rural Development and Promotion (ASDEPR).
