The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Forestry has opened the application period to the annual aid granted under POSEI and PRORURAL+ through an Implementing Order published today in the Official Journal.
 
The submission of applications for payment requests and declaration of farm surface areas takes place from February 15 to May 15, with the exception of the aid for banana production that runs between January 2 and 31, 2018.
 
Under PRORURAL+, farmers may apply to the aid granted to following measures: "Agri-environment and Climate," "Payments to areas facing natural or other specific constraints" and offset payments to other areas affected by specific constraints, "Organic Farming," and "Forest-environmental and Climate Services and Conservation of Forests."
 
Under POSEI, the Government has set the calendar for submission of applications to aid requests under POSEI-Azores Sub-programme in 2017: "Aid to Producers of Arable Crops," "Aid to Producers of Traditional Crops," "Aid to the Maintenance of Vineyards for the Production of Wines under the Designation of Origin and Geographical Indication," Aid to Pineapple Growers," "Aid to Horticultural Producers, Flower and Ornamental Plan Growers," "Aid to Tobacco Growers," "Aid to Banana Production," "Cattle Slaughter Premium," "Aid to the Export of Regional Young Cattle" and "Premium for Milk Producers."
 
Even with regard to POSEI, the Government has also established the deadlines for submission of applications to aid under the POSEI-Azores sub-programme in 2018 for the "Cattle Slaughter Premium," "Suckling Cow Premium," "Premium for Sheep and Goat Producers" and "Dairy Cow Premium."
 
For this purpose, beneficiaries of direct payments should provide a declaration of the total area of the farm.
