Under the terms of a decree published in the Official Journal on Thursday, the monitoring and reporting of energy consumption of public buildings and roads will become mandatory in the Azores.
According to that regional legislative decree, the public buildings and roads under the administration of regional and municipal entities will be subject to these rules.
The reporting of energy consumption also allows the possibility of real-time access to the energy consumption of each building at every moment as well as the drafting and release of an annual energy report.
Under this legislation, the Regional Autonomous Administration and Local Authorities are required to install these monitoring and reporting systems for energy consumption within three years.
