The Government of the Azores will open the first phase for the submission of applications to the investment measures for the prevention of accidents and adverse weather effects or natural disasters on farms. The applications period runs from September 1 to November 2.
With this sub-measure of PRORURAL +, the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and the Environment, through the Regional Directorate for Rural Development, intends to provide Azorean farmers with an opportunity to create protection infrastructures designed to minimise the action of external erosive agents that pose a risk to farms and their productions.
Under the terms of the ordinance published in the Official Journal today, the amount of support is 80% of the total eligible costs of the investment projects, which includes the construction of support walls, water drainage structures and the planting of hedges (live or artificial).
These support measures are provided under the Rural Development Programme proposed by the Region to the European Commission and will remain into force until 2020.
The support requests and the required documents certifying the eligibility of applicants should be submitted through the electronic form available on the PRORURAL + Portal at http://proruralmais.azores.gov.pt. The submission of applications is authenticated with the identification code provided for that purpose.
