Government of the Azores prepares participation in the European Council of Agricultural Ministers
The President of the Government called on all political represented at the Legislative Assembly, MEPs Sofia Ribeiro and Ricardo Serrão Santos, the National Association of Dairy Industries, the Azores Agricultural Federation and Unileite/Lactaçores for a round of hearings in order to prepare the Government's participation in the meeting of the European Council of Agricultural Ministers to be held in Brussels next Monday, March 14.
The purpose of these meetings, which will take place in Ponta Delgada Saturday, March 12, is to consolidate and strengthen a common Azorean position on the current situation of the agricultural sector in the Azores, according to the invitation sent by Vasco Cordeiro.
In addition to the European Council of Agricultural Ministers, the meeting promoted by Vasco Cordeiro also emphasise the preparation of a meeting between the President of the Government and the European Commissioner, Phil Hogan, scheduled for April.
The meetings will start Saturday at 8 AM and the last hearing is expected to end at 5.30 PM.
In these meetings, Vasco Cordeiro will be accompanied by the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and the Environment, Luís Neto Viveiros, and the Regional Secretary of the Presidency for External Relations, Rodrigo Oliveira.
