Local Action Groups will be able to apply for interterritorial and transnational cooperation projects
Local Action Groups (LAGs), made up of local representatives from public and private sectors, will be able to establish and implement cooperation projects with different rural territories in the country and the European Union or with third countries, according to an ordinance published today in the Official Gazette.
The support provided for this purpose under the PRORURAL+ programme intends to stimulate the non-agricultural development of rural areas as well as the consolidation of their economic, social, cultural and environmental fabric.
In addition, the new ordinance promotes the coordination and optimisation of operational, human and financial resources in various rural territories.
With regard to eligible costs, the new rules comprise works for the rehabilitation and improvement of buildings, purchase of new machines and equipment, namely computer equipment and energy systems for self-consumption consumption using renewable energy sources.
The support is awarded in the form of a non-reimbursable subsidy; 85% will be granted by EARRD and the remaining 15% by the regional budget.
