Luís Neto Viveiros says that joint work with MEPs is "crucial" to the Region's future
The Regional Secretary for Natural Resources, Luís Neto Viveiros, considered today that a "joint effort" between the Regional Government and MEPs on a regular basis is "crucial" to defend the Region's interests among European decision-making centres.
Luís Neto Viveiros stressed that this joint work "is fundamental and crucial to succeed in the coming European negotiations" on structural support and "relevant matters that are under the jurisdiction of the Regional Secretariat for Natural Resources."
Speaking to journalists in Ponta Delgada at the end of an audience with Socialist MEP, Luís Paulo Alves, the Regional Secretary for Natural Resources mentioned the particular cases of the Fisheries, Agricultural and Environmental sectors.
"We intend to maintain a frequent and steady relation in order to share the Region's problems and join efforts to find ways of achieving success in the defence of the Azores' interests among decision-making centres," assured Luís Neto Viveiros.
