Regional Government available to collaborate with Raríssimas Association in social and therapeutic agriculture project
The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Forestry, through the Regional Directorate for Agriculture, expressed his full availability to collaborate with the youth entrepreneurship project developed by Raríssimas Association on the island of Pico, which aims to implement social and therapeutic agriculture.
"Projects of this kind reinforce the multifunctional dimension of agriculture, as easily concluded by the work already developed by Raríssimas Association, responding to the needs of people with different needs," said José Élio Ventura, who spoke Monday at the presentation of VIRA project promoted by this association.
This project is aimed at the valuing, inclusion and learning of people with disabilities or at risk of social exclusion, using social and therapeutic agriculture based on organic farming practices.
In this regard, agriculture and land exploration are no longer regarded as a matter of productivity, efficiency and profitability, but rather a source of education, rehabilitation, social inclusion and therapy.
During the presentation of the project, the seal of Raríssimas was also announced, which is intended to be acquired by companies focused on social concerns so that may contribute financially to the implementation of the association's projects.
