Regional Government invests 177 thousand Euros in resurfacing of forest road on Terceira
The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Forestry, João Ponte, signed today the contract work for the resurfacing of Ramada Forest Road on Terceira Island, with an estimated budget of 177 thousand Euros.
This work includes the resurfacing of the road in bituminous concrete and will cover an extension of just over two kilometres. The road is located in the villages of Cinco Ribeiras and Santa Bárbara, municipality of Angra do Heroísmo.
The resurfacing of Ramada Forest Road represents an important investment for Terceira farmers, as it will improve the access to 18 areas in an area over 60 hectares.
This is a necessary intervention, considering the poor condition of the current pavement, despite the many interventions carried out by the Terceira Forest Services.
This intervention falls within the Regional Government's strategic commitment to constantly improve accessibility as well as to qualify and modernise the network of agricultural and forest roads.
Also, this year, the Government plans to make a one million-Euro investment on Terceira Island in infrastructures such as roads, water supply and electrification of farms.
