Regional Government reinforces support programmes to farmers for the purchase of machinery and equipment
The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and the Environment has decided to reinforce the support measures for the modernisation of farms and agricultural production units by investing in their mechanisation through a simple and quick process that Azorean farmers may apply to.
The rules on the Support Programme to Agricultural Modernisation (PROAMA) were approved in the Official Journal today. This support measure is intended to support the acquisition of machinery and equipment adapted to the size of farms and production units in situations that do not require major investments.
As a complement to the new Rural Development Programme (PRORURAL+), PROAMA aims to encourage the modernisation and mechanisation in animal and plant production sectors, strengthen their competitiveness and contribute to the improvement of farmers' working conditions.
