The Azorean forest will be highlighted at another edition of the Macaronesia Forest Days that will take place on the island of Madeira from February 9 -11.
The Regional Government of the Azores will be represented by technicians from the Regional Directorate for Forest Resources, who will present several papers related to the assessment of the amount of biomass in Cryptomeria woods in the Azores, a practical example concerning the implementation of a Forest Management Plan in the Sete Cidades Crater Lake Hydrographic Basin and the new technologies in the propagation of Azorean endemic species.
Monitoring the abundance of wild rabbits on the islands of São Miguel and Flores as well as the abundance of woodcocks in the Azorean archipelago are another themes to be presented by the technicians from the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Forestry.
The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Forestry will be represented at this event by the Regional Director for Forest Resources, Anabela Isidro.
