1 - To the DRJ it competes, namely:
a) To aid and to support the Regional Secretary in the formulation and realization of the policies of youth;
b) To implement mechanisms of regional and intersectoral co-ordination for the policies of youth;
c) To participate in the preparatory studies, preparation or reformulation of the legislation in its area of competence;
d) To promote the creation of systems of information, of service and of advising for youngsters and respective associations;
e) To consult the social and partners and other organisms implicated as for the politics of youth;
f) To create and to maintain programs of mobility and exchange intended for youngsters;
g) To appreciate the requests and to grant the supports predicted in the law;
h) To support the youthful associativism and the student associativism;
i) To promote and to support actions of youthful volunteers;
j) To develop occupational programs and of free times for youngsters;
k) To prepare and to develop programs and actions that aim at the promotion of the citizenship and the civic participation of the youngsters.
