The Regional Directorate for Youth is promoting in Ponta Delgada the international training course "My Favourite Mistake," an initiative of the National Agency for the Management of the Erasmus+/Youth in Action Programme that involves 26 participants from Portugal, Austria, Italy, Spain, Malta, Hungary and Poland.
This training involving youth technicians, community leaders and teachers, among other professionals working with young people. It aims to promote the reflection on the role of mistakes in the learning process and the cultural perception of mistakes, but also to explore a new approach to techniques and methodologies that help learning from mistakes in a positive and constructive way.
According to the Regional Director for Youth, this initiative in the Azores represents "a fair recognition of the work that has been developed in terms of youth policies".
Lúcio Rodrigues stressed that this training course, which runs until Saturday, will "strengthen the skills of these technicians in order to render their work with young people more effective, while ensuring that their job will be become increasingly qualified."
The "Erasmus + Youth in Action" programme was created for the period 2014-2020 with the aim of reinforcing the skills and employability of young people, through transnational partnerships between education and youth institutions to promote cooperation and bring closer the worlds of education and labour.
"The reinforcement of employability, professional qualification and civic participation are the goals of this transnational project, which converge with the guidelines of the policies defined by the Government of the Azores," said Lúcio Rodrigues
