Government of the Azores supports "Tremor" Festival as artistic dissemination and creation event
The Regional Director for Youth stated in Ponta Delgada that the "Government of the Azores supports artistic creation and the revitalisation of public spaces to promote the intersection between art, culture and sustainable development."
Speaking at the presentation of "Tremor" Festival, Pilar Damião stressed that "creative hubs attract talent and innovation, contribute to job creation, generate knowledge, boost the potential of companies and institutions, and are attractive for tourists."
"The Government of the Azores stimulates the potential of cultural and creative industries to the development of the Region," said the government official.
"Tremor" Festival, which has the support of the Government, is an initiative promoted by Silêncio Sonoro Cultural Associations and takes place in Ponta Delgada from March 15 to 19.
The event is intended to be a music festival that will take place in the historic centre of Ponta Delgada, creating a unique experience filled with people and entertainment.
For a week, the island of São Miguel becomes a privileged music stage. On the last day, Ponta Delgada will host concerts in multiple venues, including cafes, bars, restaurants, art galleries and concert halls.
Guest artists include Capitão Fausto, Black Mountain, Zeca Medeiros, Rafael Carvalho, Julianna Barwick and Filho da Mãe.
In the third edition, "Tremor" features talks, artistic residencies, art, film, music relay, workshops, concerts for children and community projects.
"Tremor" is a joint organisation between YUZIN- Cultural Agenda, Lovers & Lollypops and independent curator António Pedro Lopes.
The festival features a multidisciplinary gathering of synergies involving artists, trade, cultural associations, the Regional Government, the municipality and the community towards the relevance of culture creation.
