Ideiaçores Regional Competition dedicated to young entrepreneurs starts today in Ponta Delgada
The Regional Director for Youth stressed today the "willingness of young people to participate in the Ideiaçores Regional Competition." This year, the initiative, already in its 9th edition, involves the participation of many young Azorean entrepreneurs who will be accompanied by their teachers."
Lúcio Rodrigues spoke at Teatro Micaelense in Ponta Delgada, where the first phase of the Ideiaçores Regional Competition, the Ideiaçores Bootcamp, kicked off. The event provides several activities geared towards youth entrepreneurship for young people from various islands of the archipelago between the ages of 10 and 20.
Over the next two days, these young people will participate in thematic workshops focused on mentoring (personal development methodology through which a more experienced person helps a less experienced person to evolve), communication techniques and direct contact with young entrepreneurs. Additionally, there will be a Pitch Training session aimed at helping young people to consolidate the presentations of their projects.
"The presentation of the projects in competition by young participants next Wednesday will be the highlight of this initiative. The ideas under development cover several fields, from the digital area and innovative products to the beverage market, cooking and even tourism," said the Regional Director for Youth, Lúcio Rodrigues.
The Regional Director for Youth welcomed all young people and teachers, hoping that "the next two days will be full of experiences" and "personal development for all." According to him, this "will be an important tool for the future life of our young people, for the future of the Azores."
As in previous years, the winners will go on a four-day Entrepreneurial Mission to Lisbon, where they will learn about the national entrepreneurial ecosystem and participate in recreational and cultural visits.
