LABJOVEM Exhibition with international dimension, says Regional Director for Youth
The Regional Director for Youth said today in Ribeira Grande that the Labjovem Exhibition "will be showcased in the Azores, Lisbon and, for the first time, in Edinburgh," Scotland, thus acquiring an international dimension.
Speaking at the presentation of the exhibition, the partners and the juries that will make up this year's edition of Labjovem - Young Creators Competition, Pilar Damião pointed out that "after five editions, this programme has acquired an international dimension, ensuring the presence of the winners in each category in competition at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016.
According to Pilar Damião, the display of the artistic works of Azorean young people in this festival is "a crucial aspect in this whole creative process."
"It is important for the Region that young people have the opportunity to present their creative and experimental work in several international circuits," stressed the government official. According to her, the Regional Directorate for Youth has already established partnerships with several entities to ensure the presence of winners at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, namely EDA, Banif, NOS Azores, Teatro Micaelense and Açoreana Seguros.
For the Regional Director, "the involvement of partners reflects, on the one hand, the relevance of cultural entrepreneurship in the community and in economic and business community in particular and, on the other hand, the projection and dissemination of the artistic projects developed by Azorean young creators."
