Regional Directorate for Youth promotes discussion on "Being European in the Azores"
The Regional Directorate for Youth (DRJ) promotes in Ponta Delgada next Saturday a debate on the theme "Being European in the Azores" addressed at youngsters between 18 and 30 years.
This project, which results from an application submitted by DRJ for the Youth in Action programme, will discuss in four workshops on subjects related to "European Citizenship," "Public Policies on Youth Entrepreneurship and Volunteering," "Youth Mobility in the European Union" and "Youth Participation in Regional Policy."
These sessions will take place at the Ponta Delgada Youth Hostel and will be moderated by Rui Luís, Ricardo Tavares, Marta Couto and Cláudio Almeida.
The closing session, scheduled for 5:30 PM, will be attended by MEPs Maria do Céu Patrão Neves and Luís Paulo Alves.
A conference on the same topic will be held the day before the workshops, Friday, at 8:30 PM. Moderated by the Regional for Youth, this conference is addressed at youngsters and entities developing projects in the area of youth.
The event, which will take place at the Teatro Micaelense, will feature the participation of Rui Bettencourt, advisor to the Presidency of the Government, Montserrat Ciges, deputy director of the Corredor cultural association and Ricardo Tavares, director of the Diocesan Pastoral Office for Higher Education and Ecumenism, who will address the theme "Being European in the Azores" from their perspectives and personal experiences.
