Regional Director for Youth highlights gains that can result from cooperation between the Azores and the National Government
The Regional Director for Youth highlighted the gains that can result from the "collaboration and cooperation between the Azores and the National Government in networking."
Pilar Damião spoke after the meeting of the Youth Advisory Council (CCJ), held Thursday in Lisbon, where she highlighted the work developed in the Azores in the area of youth. In this regard, she stressed that the Region "has its own youth policy and also has quite innovative and unique programmes at national level."
This meeting also addressed, among other topics, the 2016 activity plans of the National Agency for ERASMUS + Youth in Action Programme Management and the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth.
The Youth Advisory Council is a body of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, chaired by a member of the National Government in charge of youth affairs for the coordination of policies in this area.
In this regard, this government official is responsible for the analysis of global youth policies related to civic participation and the social and economic inclusion of young people, and the identification of priority areas of intervention under the White Paper on Youth, among other matters.
