Regional Director for Youth notes that nearly 8 thousand young Azoreans participated in entrepreneurial education initiatives
The Regional Director for Youth noted today that nearly eight thousand Azorean youngsters participated in entrepreneurial education initiatives in the last four years.
"Over the past four years, 7,746 young Azorean students have participated in the 'Entrepreneurial Education: The Path to Success!' programme," said Lúcio Rodrigues. The government official spoke at the opening of the regional contest IdeiAçores, which takes place under the 7th Summer Camp - IdeiAçores.
"This year's edition of IdeiaAcores, there will be 29 business ideas in competition submitted by 29 regional schools, covering almost a hundred young Azorean students," the Regional Director said, adding that "these ideas will be analysed and evaluated by a specialised jury."
In his speech, Lúcio Rodrigues pointed out that, under "Summer Camp," already underway, young people will participate in workshops and pitch training. These activities will be an added value to improving the presentation of projects in competition."
"This initiative of the Government of the Azores aims to develop a culture of initiative, stimulate entrepreneurial culture, encourage dynamism and creativity, boost autonomy and decision making, with special emphasis on the interpersonal relationship and participation of our most important ambassadors," said the Regional Director.
Lúcio Rodrigues added that the initiative also intends to "stimulate the contact of Azorean youth with real-world entrepreneurs so that they may enjoy bring their ideas forward and later implement them in the real work, thus contributing to the development of the Azores."
"That is what we work for every day," said the government official.
The Summer Camp - IdeiAçores falls within the programme "Entrepreneurial Education: The Way of Success," an initiative of the Government of the Azores promoted by the Regional Directorates for Youth and Education.
